About Us
ACTS-Fellowship is people who realize that Jesus' Church is comprised of people building relationships with Him and with one another. We are family--- the family of Abba Father! We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us; we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. (2 Corinthians 5:20) We believe in the Holy Trinity-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe salvation is available only by faith in Christ alone. We believe the Bible is God's word and that it is still relevant for today as it has been in the past. ACTS-Fellowship is apostolic and prophetic by nature and as members of the household of God, we are standing on the written Word; "being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone." (Ephesians 2:19-20) And we continue being fitted together, growing into a holy temple in the Lord---"a dwelling place of God in the Spirit." (Ephesians 2:21-22)
We desire to build relationships with other fellowships in Memphis, in the Mid-South, and wherever Holy Spirit leads. We choose to be as Gideon's army and lap His living waters, yet not despise our humble, small beginnings. We know and understand the King can do great exploits with small numbers of people while multiplying those people into a great army.
It is our intent and purpose to keep ACTS-Fellowship mobile. We will be able to reach more people with the Gospel of the Kingdom and most of our funds can be used to train (disciple) people. We are the laborers Jesus asked prayer for; "the fields are white unto harvest, but the laborers few, pray for laborers to go bring in this harvest." As needed we will be able to rent or use a larger facility provided by one of the fellowships with whom we have built relationship. This way the CO-OP of ministries can come together to hear the apostolic and prophetic voice of the Father by Holy Spirit and worship our Father and Lord. We believe these times will cause us to become one even as the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit are one. We will be the Temple of God in the earth where His Spirit dwells with mankind.
Our Purpose is:
1. To worship and serve God the Father and Jesus the Son by fulfilling the “Great Commission” as stated both in Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15-18.
2. To inform and impart to every “born again” believer the promise of the Baptism of Holy Spirit and with fire as to have the power to be a witness of Christ as is found in Acts 1:8.
3. To minister to the needs of the members and send them out to be servants to others.
4. To do all things as has been commanded by our Lord and King, Jesus Christ and is written in His Holy word, the Bible.
5. To walk in the fullness of His anointing, thus doing the very works Jesus did and even greater works as He declared we would. John 14:12
Our Statement of Faith:
1. We believe in one God, the Father, the Most High, which by His spoken Word created Heaven and Earth, and....
2. In the Son, our Lord and King, Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, eternally begotten of God the Father. He is the only way to the Father, thus the only name by which we can know and have an eternal relationship with God His Father, and....
3. In Holy Spirit by whom Jesus was conceived of the Virgin Mary, thus becoming God in flesh to live among men.
4. We believe Jesus suffered, was crucified to shed His blood, died a physical death and buried, went through the grave to set the captive free, and was physically resurrected on the third day from the dead.
5. We believe after His resurrection He walked with His disciples and apostles to prove He was alive before ascending to His rightful place on His heavenly throne at the right hand of God His Father.
6. We do believe in His (Jesus) soon and quick return in glory to get His Bride and to judge the living and the dead.
7. We do believe and pray for His Kingdom to come here on earth even as it is in heaven and His Kingdom will have no end.
8. We believe in Holy Spirit, the Comforter, the Teacher, and the Promise sent from Heaven from the Father at the request of the Son (Jesus). Holy Spirit is the one who empowers us to be witnesses of Jesus Christ in our homes, cities, nation, and to the ends of the earth.
9. We believe in one Apostolic and universal Church made up of living stones (people), in whom Jesus has entrusted the keys to His Kingdom here in the Earth. She will show forth His glory in the earth as she glories in Him.
10. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
11. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
(Should the question arise where we stand on satan and hell; we believe in a literal hell and satan is real. This is written of in His Word and we acknowledge that it is impossible for God the Father to lie.)
Fellowship Oversight: JESUS is the Head of the Church!
Our ministry is based on the oversight model left for us in Acts with the birth of His New Testament Church----an apostolic presbytery and/or a council of elders. Within this model everyone, including those who sit on ACTS-Fellowship oversight council, are accountable to one another. Should a dispute or disagreement arise, everyone will have the right to bring it before this council. If there is a personal issue between two members of ACTS-Fellowship, they are expected to follow the procedure given by our Lord Jesus. (Matthew 18:15-17) Members of the council are not exempt from this process, even as apostle Peter was not exempt when there was concern of the way he acted around different people. It will be the council's commitment to enter into a time of prayer to seek Holy Spirit for any solution needed and present this to the people. We believe if we get our answers to issues or problems from Holy Spirit, we as a body can walk in agreement with one another, thus being one, in unity even as Jesus wills (John 17:21-23).
It is our hope in following this example, it will save this fellowship from falling into a devisive trap that so many other church fellowships have suffered and even died. Hopefully this will prevent one person or one group of people from having control of this fellowship. We pray that through our submission, Holy Spirit will be in control of this ministry and use it to show forth God's glory in the earth, while providing an example of the ministry foundation, from days of old, that we believe Jesus still desires in His Church.
Every born-again believer is part of the Body of Christ.
Teaching, Ministry, & Training Method:
We believe the five-fold gift given to the Church and written of in Ephesians by the apostle Paul is the way Jesus desires to equip His Body for the work of ministry in the earth. (Ephesians 4:11-12 "And He Himself (Jesus) gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ......") We are in total agreement that one person does not have the capability to equip the saints as Jesus desires for us to be discipled. One person is unable to impart everything needed in a body of Believers. There will be a team of ministers associated with this fellowship. The same minister(s) will not always be speaking in every meeting. In operating under this structure, this body will not get attached to a personality or one gifting over another, but will only be encouraged to follow after the King, Jesus. Everyone's gifts and purpose in Him, shall be uncovered and they shall be released and sent out into their destiny in His Kingdom. As previously stated, it is our hope everyone who will be a part of this fellowship will learn to serve and not be served and that they will be willing to lay down their life to live His life through them. The members here will be given the opportunity to walk in the fullness of His anointing. In walking as Jesus did, signs and wonders shall follow them as a witness to this lost world. We shall do the works of Jesus and even greater works as Jesus proclaimed we would.
Please read all of Ephesians 4 to understand the benefit of the Five-Fold Ministry Gift!
We also believe every believer who will accept their God given responsibility can teach and disciple others. After all, the "Great Commission" is for all who believe in and have accepted Jesus as Messiah and Lord to be about making disciples for Him. We believe as one matures in the Word and in spiritual things they should teach others. (Hebrews 5:12)
